Home IVIG Therapy

Home IVIG Therapy

Intravenous immunoglobulin therapy is our specialty. We provide home IVIG infusions for patients across a wide range of conditions — with the clinical expertise and coordination to make treatment as safe and comfortable as possible.

What is IVIG (Antibody) therapy?

Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) is a treatment made from donated human plasma that contains antibodies — the proteins your immune system uses to fight infections and regulate immune responses.

IVIG is prescribed for a wide range of conditions. For some patients, it replaces antibodies their bodies can’t produce on their own. For others, it helps regulate an overactive immune system that’s attacking healthy tissue. The specific reason your physician has prescribed IVIG depends on your diagnosis.
IVIG is administered through an IV, typically over several hours. Most patients receive infusions on a regular schedule — often every three to four weeks — as part of ongoing treatment.

Why your doctor chose home IVIG?

IVIG therapy requires regular infusions, often for years or even a lifetime. Where you receive those infusions matters — for your health, your comfort, and your quality of life.
Reduced exposure to infections
Many patients receiving IVIG have conditions that affect their immune system’s ability to fight infections. Traveling to a hospital or infusion center means exposure to waiting rooms, shared spaces, and other patients who may be ill.
Home infusion eliminates that exposure. You receive treatment in your own environment, with only your nurse present — significantly reducing your risk of picking up an infection while getting the therapy that’s meant to protect you.

“For patients whose immune systems are already weakened or compromised, avoiding unnecessary infection exposure isn’t just a preference — it’s a medical priority.”

One-on-one nursing attention

IVIG infusions typically last several hours. In an infusion center, your nurse is monitoring multiple patients simultaneously. With home infusion, your nurse is focused entirely on you — watching for reactions, adjusting rates as needed, and ensuring your comfort.

Comfort of your own home

Your own chair. Your own environment. The ability to rest, read, work, or watch TV during your infusion. For a treatment you’ll receive regularly, safety and comfort matter — and home is where most people are the safest and feel most comfortable.

Flexibility in scheduling
Infusion centers have set hours and limited capacity. Home infusion works around your life — your nurse comes to you at times that fit your schedule, whether that’s early morning, evening, or on days that work best for you. Our flexibility is designed with you as the priority.
Physician-directed care
Your IVIG therapy is overseen by a clinical team led by a medical director who specialize in infusion care — not simply fulfilled by a pharmacy. Clinical decisions, monitoring, and adjustments to your treatment are overseen by physicians with deep expertise in IVIG therapy.
